This page is maintained by Six Islands™ (operated by i-oxr Pty Ltd) and explains how we handle personal information when you visit sixislands.net or purchase one of our books. We aim to keep this short and plain.
Who we are
Six Islands™ is operated by i-oxr Pty Ltd, based in Adelaide, South Australia. You can reach us at tom@sixislands.net.
What we collect
- Contact details you provide (name, email, phone, postal address) when you enquire, subscribe to the Captain's Log, or place an order.
- Order details needed to produce and ship your book (recipient name, personalised content you provide).
- Site analytics via Google Analytics — pages visited, device type, approximate location, referrer. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiries.
- To produce, print, and ship the book you've ordered.
- To send the Captain's Log newsletter — only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe any time.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who we share it with
We share only what's necessary, with providers that help us run the service:
- Email and newsletter delivery (MailerLite).
- Analytics (Google Analytics).
- Printing and fulfilment partners (to produce and ship your book).
- Payment providers (handled by them directly; we don't store full card details).
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences. You can clear or block them in your browser settings.
Storage and retention
We keep order and contact records for as long as needed to fulfil our obligations and a reasonable period afterward for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email tom@sixislands.net and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children
The site is intended for adults. Books are purchased by adults and given as gifts; we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
